Update; This feeder works excellent. We have not had any jamming issues at all. The tree rats can’t eat it! Throws corn way out and doesn’t use as much as my old feeder.

Hopefully this one will withstand the chewing of all the squirrels! They ate my plastic feeders! A little smaller than I thought it would be but it works just fine.

This works seemlessly. We utilize it for our pigs while we are out of town. The timer goes off and it scatters whole kernel corn for the pigs to eat. The only downside is that you can only use whole kernel corn.

Now for the product itself. The working of it, is not squirrel or raccoon resistant n as you can see in my picture I had to add a cage to it, to make it so. If not they will eat off of the hopper by putting their hands in there. The container lid needs a tie down so that the intelligence raccoon is unable to remove the lid.

Once these things are done it seems to work as expected. BTW, The cage does not impede the distribution much.

I am ok with the distribution with the cage. The programming was easy enough. Mine has gone through some heavy rain n is still is working. Feeder 360 free

 

My feet fit perfectly under it and nothing spills. The bowls are light weight, but substantial enough to not feel like they are cheap. The manufacturer put a rubber grip around the edge of the bowl so it does not clank against the metal stand as the dog eats or drinks I am assuming that was the reason since that is what it does. There are rubber bits on the bottom feet I had one missing, but since this is on ceramic tile I am not too concerned about it.

It comes complete, nothing to put together. Some reviewers complained about the stickers, I had no problem pulling them off of the bowls. If I had I would have used a bit of rubbing alcohol on them and it would have rubbed right off. By Karebare on February 18, So far so good! One complaint that I have is the rubber around the lip of the bowl, this is intended to make the bowls quiet in the metal stand which is does a great job at. However, water gets under the rubber ring when you wash it or when the dog drinks out of it and it gets slimy and nasty. It is also very hard to put back on the bowl by yourself, if you take it off to clean it. I would suggest to put rubber circles on the stand it self so the bowls touch that instead of the metal and it will be quieter that way.

Other than that, this is a great product that I would recommend and buy again. When the box arrived, one of the wire stands that supports the two plastic bowls had a bent leg, but it was easily bent back into place.

The white plastic bowls do not absorb heat from sitting outside in sunlight and they are easy to clean. A rubber ring, that wraps around the top lip of the bowl slips off easily for cleaning. When you are a 17 year old dog, you need all the help you can get, and these bowls are good for senior doggies.

Our Goldendoodle went right over and seems to really appreciate not having to eat or drink from a bowl on the floor. She is pretty leggy so I think this is much more comfortable. I just put her regular bowls in. They are a tiny bit smaller than the bowls that come with the rack, but no sliding issues. It comes with rubber feet you have to put on. They give you an extra, which is nice.

The dishes are over priced for the quality but they are lovely to look at and exactly what we needed for our dogs. This is our second set only bad thing is they change colour and its very noticeable. I see alot of people saying they had to assemble the product but mine came in a big box already built no screws, all welded together it’s durable and isn’t easy to tip over while my 90lbs dog is eating, unless you walk into it it’ll stand still nice, my only complaint is the bowls, the rubber ring to prevent metal clanking it greats but the bowl itself feels thin and could probably be stabbed through easily, very minor complaint but over all 5 stars.

So I’m back to using my worn and faded plastic feeder that is 30 years old, has fallen multiple times, and still holds together perfectly. The media could not be loaded. It’s simple, durable, easy to fill and clean, and hold a good amount of seed. The only downside is that it isn’t squirrel-proof at all. I almost got a pic of a squirrel doing gymnastics on it. Very happy with this!

It seems pretty sturdy and well made- substantial, but not too heavy. I had some little chickadees visiting it within 24 hours of putting it up!

It’s easy to fill, too- just press the little button on the middle of the lid and the lid will “let go” of the wire and pull up. Plus, it’s light enough and small enough to work well with my new Sheppard’s hook bird feeder pole and my plant hanger hook. If you have a ton of birds that go through food quickly, it may not be an issue, but I don’t have as very many and after a couple weeks, there was a moldy clump of birdseed inside.

I live in Portland though, so this may not be an issue in a drier climate. It’s not pretty, but I’ve added a wad of aluminum foil around the wire over the the hole and that seems to be working to keep the moisture out.

Plus, the wad of foil glides up the wire easily when I need to refill. Works great so far, finches love it and the design is such that the morning doves are unable to get to the perch and camp out.

I used to use a bowl type feeder, but the morning doves would just live in that thing, now they do the cleanup on the bottom and the finches are able to enjoy the feeder. The unit I ordered was all busted up at the base, but Amazon made exchanging it the easiest experience I’ve ever gone through; second unit in perfect working order. This seems a good design for birds that are just a bit too big for a tube feeder with short perches, such as cardinals. We have blue jays on the smaller side here in Central East Florida, and they can use this feeder easily as can mockingbirds. It came well-protected in bubble wrap, and I knew from having a similar feeder before that the trick is to rotate the top piece so that when the wire is snugged against the top, you get a secure fit. Even following some strong thunderstorms, I didn’t have to clear out seed from the tray.

The blue is very pretty among the greenery of the tree I’ve hung it from, and the birds noticed it within just a few hours! I’m going to get a second one to try to lure the birds closer so my elderly mom can watch them from her recliner in her bedroom.

So it gets knocked or falls to ground not sure which as did not see it and the plastic bits snap, Whole thing does not then hold together or provide the gaps for the seed to flow out. I was looking for a feeder that did not allow large birds to take all the food before smaller birds got it. This is not it minutes in and it is broken.

Down on floor again in 30 minutes and now completely wrecked. So clearly it is not that hard for either squirrel or large birds to knock it down. One person found this helpful. However, rain can get in down the steel cable that it hangs from, and through the collar and into the seed, which causes it to clump inside the feeder.

A partly succesfull fix has been to press a lump of blu-tack onto the lid where the steel cable passes through, but maybe a silicone grommet inside may be better.
